HP ZBook 17 G1

Recent acquisition Notebook Goes to a white screen at power up.  It has been dropped at some time as the palmrest is (was) bent (replaced).  VGA port gives me a BIOS Diagnostic screen.  Display port, LG Monitor reports no activity. Currently no Disk or OS so minimal activity expected.

I am trying to isolate the issue as one of:  the display panel, the cabling, or the video card. if the VGA port is driven by the Video card, then I should be looking at the LCD panel or connections.   if the VGA port is driven by the internal (intel video) in the processor, then the issue is likely to be the video card. Black screens are , as I recall, usually a backlight issue and require panel replacement.  White is (possibly) a failure to ground the pixels and change their color. I have not looked at the internal physics of a screen in decades so I am going from very rusty memory.   Someone here should know this better than I do.

Thanks.
