Operating System: Chrome OS

hi i have replaced a mainboard in a chromebook 14 G5 and i have downloaded the OEM chrome OS from the HP ftp site but when i insert the usb after creating the recovery usb i get an error "the device you inserted does not contain Chrome OS " i have been on the phone to HP Priority support and 10 days later and still have no idea how to get around this .

HP Priority cut me off the phone toady and it seems no one can help i have asked for a SOP to work to and this cannot be provided

i have tried with the battery connected and with out i have also removed all the screws from the mainboard as with other manufaturers this can be an issue if any one could help would be much apprieciated
