Product: Compaq presario cq57
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

After rebuilding my moms laptop and receiving great help from Paul on resolving the ethernet and network controller issue I am plagued by the error code 80072EFE on trying to update windows.

 

I have tried multiple times of fresh install, formatting hard drive etc so is a clean install.

 

No additional programs or downloads have taken place, it is as wind 7 pro after an activation.

 

I did have to use the phone automated system as it would not activate on line even though it is a genuine copy with the correct product key.

 

Please help as I need to get this laptop back to my mon but dont want to give it her until I have done critical and security updates. I am on line now with laptop all up and connected.
