Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

[EDIT]

I just saw a guide posted here and will give it a shot on running both gpus at the same time.  I wonder if that will be a headache on which gpu will be using which screen/application at which time.  I will see if once you get it set up like this, if you can disable one or the other gpu when you don't what to use it.

Hello - it would be fantastic if using an eGPU with a Quadro laptop could be simplified.

Currently, if you try to use a regular GTX Nvidia eGPU with a Quadro laptop you are thrown into graphic drivers hell.

You have to install the other Nvidia driver which then makes it VERY hard to switch back to using the Quadro gpu.

When we did this, we have to uninstall the GTX Nvidia driver, reboot, and then reinstall the Quadro drivers again.

This is crazy. There should be a way in the BIOS to set up a boot priority on GPU drivers. Or have the system understand when to use what and have them all installed all the time.

I know Nvidia and Windows are also to blame here but it would be great if HP came out with a simple solution.

The Zbook X2 G4 is a wonderful machine and should be able to take advantage of eGPUs that are not Quadro when you do not need to use OpenGL 10bit.
