Product: G5000
Operating System: Linux
Hello Community,
I run an old but beloved G5000 (RY489EA), with a 30C6 MB (BIOS F.12), 2GB Ram, a 64GB SSD and a T2450 processor.
Now I've installed a T7200, everything works fine so far.
The only problem is, the fan runs almost permanently at full load, the processor heats up to 92 degrees as soon as I just start the browser.
Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia is currently running as a 32-bit version, but I wanted to switch to 64-bit.
Question 1: can a BIOS update do anything here?
Question 2: Can the T7200 be operated on the 30C6 MB at all (although declared as compatible)
I would be very happy about competent help
Thank you Forri
