HP Envy M6-K025dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy laptop model M6-K025dx. I have been using the same external display with the laptop since I bought it; although it's periodically used without the external display.

Yesterday the laptop stopped seeing the monitor at all, then it came back on without me changing anything. Now today it cannot see the monitor again. When I go to Display Settings > Multiple Monitors, the second monitor cannot be found at all.

The OS is Windows 10 Home. All Windows Updates are installed (I double-checked this morning).

I've tried connecting the monitor to another laptop, it works fine. I've tried a different HMDI cable with the HP Envy - makes no difference, the Envy cannot find this monitor. I tried updating the display adapter, but am told the best version is already installed. I've tried disabling and re-enabling the Display Adapter; that made no difference.

How do I make this laptop find my external display again?
