HP Recommended
Product: HP 250 G5 notebook
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am unable to open HP support assistant.  I have uninstalled the software and reinstalled it (many times) but am still unable to open the software.  I have the icon and that opens  and says "Hp Support Assistant" but then nothing else happens.  

 

Everything was working fine until I reloaded windows 10 as it wasn't working properly due to "ransomeware - call this microsoft number"  window that opened.  Although closed it and ran McAfee I wasn't able to get onto the internet and microsoft edge wouldn't open. 

 

I have also tried 

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed...

and uninstalled HP support assistant and reloaded but still can't get it to open.

 

Anyone have any idea as to what else I can try?
