Hi, since the touchpad does not do anything (I have to use a USB mouse even in BIOS setup) I thought to a HW problem and I changed the top cover. Unfortunately without success. Is anyone able to advise about next step to successfully recover touchpad?

Within troubleshooting I found a possible damage at the touchpad ribbon cable (mother board edge). One path is shorter (it seems broken, please, check attached picture) and an other adjacent seems damaged as well (but not broken). Two questions: - is this cable really faulty, so it is the root cause of the touchpad defect? - If not (the cable is damaged, but it should not be the problem) is the mother board next broken part or there is a further part to be evaluated?  QuestionOnTouchPadRibbon.jpg

Please, let me know your opinion.

Thank you! 🙂
