Hi!

I'm having problems with an external 144Hz monitor. It doesn't matter if it's connected via HDMI or mini-DP, the symptoms are the same:

- if the monitor is already connected when the laptop boots, then everything is fine, crisp 144 Hz

- if I turn off the monitor and then turn it on while the laptop is already running, then it's still 144 Hz (reported by the monitor) BUT the animations have lots of ghosting. When tested with https://www.testufo.com/, the following is displayed in this case:

To correct this problem, I simply restart the laptop and keep the monitor turned on.

Notes:

- these symptoms occur even with the laptop plugged-in

- monitor works fine with another laptop (also connected via mini-DP) or with a desktop computer

- latest nvidia driver (461.40)

- everything up to date in HP Support Assistant

Of course, I set everything on maximum performance.

I would say this is a bug of some kind but I can't just understand where it originates. Anybody have a similar experience? How did you solve it?
