I am evaluating two 2nd hand LaserJet Pro printers, that is why I will ask about "old" models.

The two models are: 1102w and a (multifunction) M26nw.

On the P1102w specs I read:

Black (best): Up to 600 x 600 x 2 dpi (1200 dpi effective output); Black (normal): Up to 400 x 600 x 2 dpi (600 dpi effective output);

Question 1: what is the difference between "1200 x 1200 dpi" and "600 x 600 x 2 dpi"?

I thought that was due to the "FastRes 1200" magic (that the P1102w supports), but when I read the specs of the M26nw printer, I find:

Print resolution: Black (best): Up to 600 x 600 dpi; Black (normal): Up to 600 x 400 dpi
Print resolution technology: HP FastRes 600 , HP FastRes 1200

The M26nw supports FastRes 1200 as well, but its maximum dpi count stays at 600.

Question 2:  What does FastRes 1200 mean for the M26nw?

Question 3: in few words, is the older P1102w able to reach a better print quality than the M26nw?

Regards
