Hello,
Since a few years I use a photosmart 7520 AIO, which perfectly fits my needs. I use it wireless via Airprint on a Mac. Since I installed some wifi-repeaters (on the first floor of my house, printer being downstairs) so my kids can print wireless from their laptop, problems started ...
Situation is as follows : I have 1 cable-modem, which has wifi-capabilities, and 2 wifi-accesspoints that are hardwired connected to the network. Originally, the accesspoints broadcasted with the same SSID as the cablemodem did (as prescribed by the network operator). This was an ideal solution for having a great mesh-network for all devices, except for my printer ... It refused to connect, or it took ages to connect after a shutdown ...
So I changed the SSID's that were broadcasted by the accesspoints, so now I have 3 different SSID's. This new situation kind of solved the printer-problem. Connection is made to the network rather fast. Only ... All other devices suffer, because the handover is not made as before. Other device keep their connection because the connected SSID is still in range, but not with the best signal.
My wish is to re-establish the situation with a single SSID, and a printer that connects to the network.
On the internet I found some possible solutions, by upgrading the printer's firmware. So I looked up the firmware of my printer. Version is ELM1CN1434BR date: aug 21 ,2014.
So, might it be a solution upgrading this ? If so, where to find it ? I also tried to install the latest HP-driver on my mac today, and that also failed ...
Anyone who can help me ?
side-note: if important ... the printer's language is preferred to stay 'Dutch'
Thx all !
