Samsung CLX-6220 Color Laser Multifunction Printer series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Product Name: Samsung CLX-6220 Color Laser Multifunction Printer series
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Samsung Multi function CLX-6220.

It was working perfectly fine until my Win 10 x64 home force updated itself with the Fall Creator's update ver 1709.

The MFP is installed on my network at a fixed IP. It appears to be seen correctly at install by the Samsung installers.

The printer is set as default.

If I open properties through the Printer folder I can see the properties and print a test page.

Problems

1. If I try to print from my general programs - Word, PDF-X Change editor, Edge ..... I get an error or it just states it cannot find the printer.

2. If I try to access printer properties through these programs it generates an error popup.

3, this error occurs on my Laptop and Desktop Workstation. Both run Win 10 x64 home.

Corrective action:

1. I reinstalled the latest printer drivers (sept 2017). No change to problem.

2. full uninstall and reinstall yields no fix.

General observations:

1. scanner appears to be found and work just fine.

2. Printer installer installs driver, AND WILL PRINT A TEST PAGE FROM THE INSTALLER.....

BUT.... is not found by any program that I want to print from!

I get an error like "Runtime Error! Program c:\ ... \PDFXEdit.exe ; This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way"

Opening the printer queue generates a rundll32.exe error "Function address 0x19013fb8 caused a protection fault" exception 0xe06d7363

Trying to print in Word -  it can see the printer and identifies the name and IP correctly.... but the printer properties generate the same rundll.exe error.

I think at one point I had a C++ error come up as well.

I did a repair of all C++ libraries thrugh the "App" panel and no change.

I am thoroughly stumped. Whatever this update has messed with it's frustrating the hell out of me. It has rendered my printer inoperable.

The fact it prints from the installer as a "check" has me bloody stumped.

Prior to this I had a perfectly smooth running system generating no errors and using no wierd or really unusual hardware.

Current workaround has been to roll back to a previous days image of my OS and block the updates. Obviously NOT an acceptable long term solution.

I have seen several threads around problems from this update to Win 10. None were quite like mine so I've not tried any of the reg changes etc until I get specific advice.

Please also outline what specific driver set is required for use of printer functions, and the scan assistant. There are multiple listed on the support page.

Cheers Smiley Happy
