Product: Envy 7640
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Got a new computer and installing the HP software for the printer connection. The software has been touchy with prior device since upgraded to windows 10, especially for scanning documents, and found it works best with USB connection vs wifi. I currently have a USB 2.0 cable that I used with old computer. There are 3 USB 3.1 ports on the back of the new computer and only 1 USB 2.0. Would it be better to connect with a USB 3.1 cable? Would it be faster communication? Do they sell such a cable compatible with this printer? I can make it work with the USB 2.0 but would like to have ability to use that port for other device.
