LaserJet 4250
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have hundreds of LaserJet 4250tn printers here at work but this one has me stiemied. Started with the Control Panel saying DRIVE NOT INITIALIZED. Found how to run the INITIALIZE DRIVES via the arcane boot options. But it doesn't stick - after each reboot we see the same DRIVE NOT INITIALIZED on screen. So I brought it up to our work area and found that I could not change the network settings. I could change them on screen but after each reboot it's back to the same settings as the printer that replaced it (not a good thing to do on the network).

I reloaded the firmware after connecting it to my PC via USB but still could not change anything.

Did the Cold Reset through the boot opotions any number of times. After each I saw the screen flash Restoring Factory Settings. It's like it thinks the info we entered years ago ARE the factory defaults.

Finally I did an NVRAM INIT. That nuked the serial number, page count, Model Number, Formatter Number...but not the network settings.

So...is the Formatter simply hosed so that the network config is now etched into the silicon? Or is there something I overlooked?
