Product: HP Officejet Pro x476dw
Operating System: Other
I am trying to set my x476dw to print via IPP from my Synology servers for the first time, but have had no success. The printer works well from other computers in the network, both Windows and Linux. I have identified two possible issues (there may be others): First, the Synology DSM (DiskStation Manager) software does not have a printer driver specifically for the x476dw, and there doesn't seem to be a way to add one. They do have drivers for dozens of other HP printers and I have tried using them, but it hasn't made a difference so far. I'd like to know which other drivers might produce acceptable results with the x476dw. Second, the requester for the IPP setup is asking for a "Queue Name." Synology says, and I quote, "Please consult your printer's user manual or contact the manufacturer." I did read through the HP user manual but I haven't found a section dealing with IPP or queues. I have made sure that Internet Printing Protocol is enabled in the printer's web interface and I have the location set to the printer's network name, but using this as the queue name in DSM hasn't succeeded yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance----Eric.
