HP OfficeJet Premium 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

(See UPDATE at the end of this post.)

I no longer own an HP OfficeJet Premium 8600 printer, and I thought I had uninstalled all of the software associated therewith. Unfortunately, two programs persist and will not allow me to uninstall them using Control Panel on Windows 10 x64. Those programs are "OfficeJet Pro 8600 Help" and "HP FWUpdateEDO2." When I attempt to uninstall either one of them, I get an error which states, "This app has been blocked for your protection. An administrator has blocked you from running this app. For more information, contact the administrator. C:\Windows\Installer\7e7996.msi.' or similar This is one of my home computers, and I have full administrative rights. User Account Controls have been set to minimum, so that's not the issue.

These programs were installed in 2012 when this same computer was running Windows 7.

What do I need to do to get rid of them? I think they might be standing in the way of me using the HP Smart application for my new OfficeJet Pro 9025e.

When I run HP Smart, and examine my only remaining printer, my new OfficeJet Pro 9025e, I get "Printer Status Unknown" on the same computer with these uninstallable programs.

HP Smart runs without difficulty on two other computers here in my home.

Thanks in advance for your help!

***UPDATE***

I was able to uninstall the two antiquated HP Programs using a support tool that I downloaded from Microsoft called MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta. HP Smart Still lists my new OfficeJet Pro 9025e as "Printer Status Unknown."
