Product: Samsung SCX-3405FW
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Found a solution to this problem on another website.  If your Samsung MFP is unable to scan in Windows 10, and assuming you already have installed Samsung Easy Print Manager, what solved the problem for me (SCX-3405FW) is to download a Samsung application called Samsung Easy Document Creator. 

 

For some reason since HP purchased Samsung printers, this software file (edc_v1.05.87.exe) is not offered on the HP support site.  I did a Google search and found a clean version dated Oct 10, 2018 here https://samsung-easy-document-creator.en.lo4d.com/windows.  Dependent on when you read this message, it may be found elsewhere too.  Once that file is installed, the scan function in Samsung Easy Print Manager works.  Good luck.
