HP Color Laserjet CP5225
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have some problems with my HP Color Laserjet CP5225. It seams that the alingment and the density of the color cyan is not correct (see attached picture). I tried to calibrate the printer in every way posible (countless calibration circles, reset defaults, cold reset, nvram reset). The firmeware is up-to-date. The diagnostics page always shows the same print quality.

I also have a second cyan cartridge so the error is not connected to the cartridge.

The event log shows an Error 54.1400

I have opened the printer with the help of the service manual and cleaned everything (laser scanner assembly, color plane registration sensor, cartrige contacts, ITB etc.). After the cleaning process the print quality didn't change.

Before I start to change parts on the printer I would like to ask if the alingnment and the color density are both connected to the calibration process or if the printer has two independent errors.

Since cleaning of the sensors didn't help my next step would be to replace the color plane registration sensor.

Best regards

Loenne
