When trying to install network printer Color Laserjet 2600n on Windows 10 64bit it connects to the network address by its IP but it does not find driver at once. After loading driver from Windows Update, it finds the printer model and starts installing it but the procedure crashes and installation dialogue disappears. When repeating, it starts installing again, creates next TCP port with name suffix _1 but crashes again.
The solution was in my case following: first I had to connect the printer via USB cable. Then Windows 10 detected the printer itself and after few minutes reported that it is ready. It worked correctly. Then I simply opened printer management in Windows control panel, Printer properties -> Ports and changed from USB001 to the one previously created , with correct TCP/IP address and saved the change. Printer worked now correctly via network as well.
