I just purchased this printer to replace a brother inkjet we had nothing but issues with.  One thing I've always liked about Brother and Epson products is that their scanner and faxing functions always seemed to work with no issue.

 

In the past, I've always had difficulty with HP Scanning and Faxing.  I admit, I haven't owned an HP printer or scanner for over 10 years, so I'm sure things have changed, but so far, it seems like I'm still having the same issues.

 

I installed the printer, and I can print.  I can fax (cannot figure out how to fax duplex, it's very necessary for my needs, the salesperson at Officemax said it will do duplex scanning which he said also means duplex faxing.

 

I can scan from my computer by initiating it in the HP Smart program, but when I attempt to scan to my shared scan folder on my desk top, it doesn't initialize.

 

I see the folder I shared on printers display, but it won't scan.  It just says scanning failed. (no other error message or code)

 

When I test on my computer in the HP Smart program, the testing fails as well. Even though I can scan.

 

It won't let me duplex scan from the computer, but it does Duplex scan from the printer (at least it has the option, so I assume it will work once this get's figured out.

 

I appreciate any help/suggestions.
