When creating an account at hpconnected.com, after I give my name, e-mail, and create a password, it asks for my snapfish password. I don't have a snapfish account. Do I have to create a snapfish account in order to create an hp account?

That means there is a snapfish accout with that email address (you probably forgot?). You can try reset the password at snapfish, or use a different email address.
