HP Recommended

I have an HP MFP M479fdw installed maybe a month ago. The software now says driver updates are available.  So I clicked on the update link.  The update software insists about every minute that I install HP Smart app, even though it is already installed.  And it repeatedly keeps searching for the printer even though it is connected by Ethernet cable to my WiFi router.  Sometimes I have to put in the IP address.  But the installer never completes the install.  It keeps taking me to more links to do the install, then to install HP Smart, then more links to install, then to install HP Smart, then more links to install.  Round and round for over an hour.

It has me download the same install app again and again, yet the app keeps going in the same circles over and over.  Grrr.

Another annoyance is that some of the windows that the install apps open are full-screen, but others are about credit-card size with no icon to click to go full-screen.  I need a magnifying glass to read what they say.  This was happening with the scanning app windows since I first got the printer.  I was hoping the update would fix it, but I can't install the update!
