Laserjet M203dw
Microsoft Windows Server 2003

I hunted far and wide for a printer that had drivers for the ancient OS windows server 2003. This printer says it has drivers but I have not been able to install them.

I have  downloaded the exe file and that says the OS is unsupported. I have also tried to install drivers manually by locating the extracted files made by the installer, and specifying to add driver. The process nearly completes but then says it has an error and rolls back.

To confirm the driver is the problem, I created a VM with 2003 SP2 installed fresh, and manually added the driver. It does the exact same thing. "unable to install printer. The operation could not be completed"

Event log - system I get events 20,4,3

20 lists the driver files being installed, 4 ssays its pending deletion, 3 says its deleted.
