Product: HP Laserjet P3015dn
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Out of the blue, I started receiving Error 49 constantly, basically every time the printer went into sleep mode. Played with all the settings, made sure firmware was up-to-date, etc., but the errors persisted. Contacted HP support, but they were unable to help. I had all but given up. Based on internet posts, I assumed I was going to going to need to spend several hundred dollars to replace the formatter board; I had even scheduled a service appointment. But then I remembered I had an external usb-connected HP Wireless Mobile Print Accessory connected to the printer. (I never use it, so I forgot it was even there.) I disconnected that, and the errors went away!

 

I hope this post might help other HP printer owners avoid a costly unnecessary repair!
