This printer is used exclusively for check printing from Quicken. Occasionally, it will print the check(s) and reprint them again sometime later. Often before this happens, I will see a brief pop-up message "HP cannot print quicken". This message may pop up right before printing the checks or shortly after. Either way, the checks typically DO print when this message occurs. Sometimes I do not get the brief error message, but the next time I send checks to the printer, nothing happens. If I check the printer settings, the old print job is still in the cue and cannot be cancelled. If I cancel it using print spooler, it will still reprint, typically the next time I start quicken or at some random time (it seems). I can stop the spooler service, close Quicken, restart the computer, restart the spooler (trying to cover every possible base) and the next time I open Quicken, it will reprint the last checks. Quicken tech experts have never seen this problem before. I need to quit wasting checks or always have to wonder if checks are going to randomly start printing. If I realize it's happening, I can sometimes pull out the drawer and stick in blank paper for them to print on. Seems to be my only resort. I am using the full-feature driver for this printer as it is needed in order to print checks in the correct order (back to front).
