Product: HP LaserJet M1005 MFP

I have been using my HP LaserJet M1005 Multifunction Printer to print, copy, and scaning, but recently it stopped printing and showing a message, "Printer is Offline".

I am not a technical person and therefore, I requested a friend to help. He tried looking for the fault and in the process deleted existing drivers for the printer. Later he informed me that my MacBook doesn't support my printer any more. As a result I am at a loss as to what should I do? I don't have much to print and therefore, don't want to spend money on another printer.

Is there any way by which I could use my HP LaserJet M1005 MFP with my MacBook?
