HP Recommended
P2055dn
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

In this post the OP indicated that the firmware offered for the HP P2055dn is not the correct firmware for the VERSION of the printer.

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/HP-LaserJet-P2055dn-Firmware-Update-Utility/m-p/6600...

While I do not know if it will destroy the device as expressed by the OP @pazeth, I do know that the firmware NAME does not match the name suggested in the Firmware's release notes.  While @davidzuts indicated that he has applied the FW patch, it is not clear if the DN (duplex) functionality has been compromised.

Specifically the name of the file is:ljp2050_Series_FW_Update_20141201_signed.exe

The release notes strongly indicate that this is not the correct file name for the DN versions of the printer as it does NOT contain a DN in the file name.

Be sure to use the correct update utility for your printer. HP LaserJet P2055dn and P2055x printers require the program which contains P2055dn_FW in its name. HP LaserJet P2055 and P2055d printers require the program which contains P2055_FW in its name.

The file offered for the DN is the same file as offered for the NON-DN version here:

I have submitted this as feedback to the page using the right side link.
