HP LaserJet M452dn
Linux

Dear HP Support Team,

my HP LaserJet M452dn stopped printing colors correctly. The colors are missing or printed far to light. This applies in particular for printing images, which become all black and white with some traces of color.

Printing black and white works again after setting the contrast of the print Density to "+5" for colors and black.

I'm using HPLIP V3.17.7 under Debian/testing GNU/Linux with CUPS and for Windows 10 there are also new drivers installed.

To this message I attached a sample printout of the demo page from web console of the M452dn, a test printout of an image where you can see mostly all colors are missing. In addition to that I added a screenshot showing the version of HPLIP is used.

The version of HPLIP under Debian/testing is as follows:

adrian@g6 (~) % apt-cache show hplip
Package: hplip
Version: 3.17.7+repack0-3
Installed-Size: 1531
Maintainer: Debian Printing Team <debian-printing@lists.debian.org>
Architecture: amd64

The log of the web console says:

10 54.1400 3071 Color plane registration sensor error 9 54.1102 3071 Magenta Density Range Error 8 54.1400 3063 Color plane registration sensor error 7 54.1103 3063 Yellow Density Range Error 6 54.1400 3031 Color plane registration sensor error 5 54.1103 3031 Yellow Density Range Error 4 49.0709 2941   3 20.0000 2840 Insufficient Print Memory 2 54.1400 2791 Color plane registration sensor error 1 54.1103 2791

Yellow Density Range Error

Can this error happen due to the color plane registrations sensor error? Or is there an issue with the driver I use?

Thank you very much in advance for any help.

Sincerely,

Adrian Immanuel Kieß

With many greetings from Leipzig, Germany.
