Trying to install this printer on an older laptop, running vista. Was able to download driver from the HP website, but got to the point of connecting the printer and it seems like the laptop tries to detect and connect on it's own which froze up the intall I was trying to accomplish. The laptops intall message says installed and ready to use and I can print, until I try to exit out of the HP installer, which says are you sure you want to cancel, I choose yes and the printer will not work any longer. I'm trying to set this up for a home office and don't have a network set up, I use verizon for internet, no router...I'm at a loss. I'm obviously not very computer savy and cannot afford a new PC or laptop which would probably connet with little trouble. Can't try the install disk because the disc reader is shot. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
