Hello, in our company we got a big problems with HP scan using USB port, we have HP MFP devices and Canon MFP devices.

Our main problem is HP scan on different models (same problem on every printer): 

     ""you need a wia driver to use this device please install it from the installation cd""

 

1. We never have any problems with Canon MFPs, also Canon doesn't have software like HP Print and Scan Doctor because it doesn't need it, and Canon software is good, and it doesn't need Print/Scan Doctor. 

 

2. We always have  problems with HP Scan using USB, on different model HP MFP/printers (like: m28a, M130xx, M227xxx) 

 

3. HP Scan problem always  occurs when it is connected using USB cable. Restarting Printer, Laptop, WIA services, Remove/reinsert USB cable most time fixes the problem but temporarily. HP Print and Scan Doctor fixes sometimes, sometimes doesn't, anyway takes long time to fix. 

 

4. HP Scan problems occurs sometimes when connected using Network. Happens but not often like USB.

 

5. We are using Windows 10 x64, I'm not sure if it is Windows 10 fault, but it happens in every version, 1803,09,1903,09.

 

I tried to be as specific as I can be, 

The problem happens when we try to scan from printer which is connected using USB cable.

Sometimes it says: ""HP scan not found"" or most time it says:

""you need a wia driver to use this device please install it from the installation cd""

 

P.S

If it is Windows or Windows's  WIA service problem then why does Scan using network works and Scan using USB doesn't? 

 

Please HP support, help ! What can be done? Please advice or fix this problem. Canon scan never has any problems.

We have HP laptops and HP MFPs, but we are no longer recommending HP MPFs because of these SCAN ISSUES ...
