Linux

I updated my HP OfficeJet Pro a couple of days ago and now my network scanning doesn't work.  Scanning to a network folder on my Linux machine has worked perfect for a couple of years now.  The Linux box is running SAMBA for the SMB connection.

Now, after the update, I get the following message: "Invalid shared folder. Check your network path and try again."

I'm sure the Linux box is not the issue as nothing has changed on it and I have tested to make sure the firewall isn't an issue by turning it off and that SAMBA is working fine by connecting my Chromebook to the shared folder with the approrpriate credentials.

I noticed that when I edit the information, this is what I see:

First, this is strange to me because I didn't have a security pin.  So, I remove the security pin and put in the password for SAMBA user foo that I know works because I have used it for years and tested the connectivity with the Chromebook.  See the picture below:

When I save and test I get the following message: "The printer is unable to connect to the remote destination. Check your configurations and try again."  OK, weird because my firewall is off and I know I can connect with the Chromebook.

So, I got back to edit and this is what I see:

It has a pin again, and my password length is too small.  It seems that it can't save my updates to my credentials which could explain why it won't connect.  Something has gone wrong with update.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks!

P.S. My machine is a HP Office Jet Pro 8710
