I've never seen such a dysfunctional product fail in so many ways. I've had issues with this printer for several months now, and today, wanted to scan a document to my computer, either via email or network drive.

Long story short, the printer went back to an issue it has every several months requiring a manual reboot of the modem, computer, and printer to get it working again. Rather than go through that whole process yet again, I tried the scan-to-jump-drive feature, which I'd never used before.

Inserted my jump drive, scanned my document, everything appeared to work. Until I inserted the jump drive into my computer - at which point I learned my jump drive had been corrupted and was unrecognizable.

I've tried for hours now to repair and recover my files from the drive, a 32 GB Toshiba USB 3.0 flash disk I've used for years without problems, and even with command line utilities I wasn't able to recover what I lost.

My question is - has anyone had a similar issue with a corrupted jump drive when trying to scan to the drive, and if so, were you able to recover the files? What were the circumstances around that situation - did you try any disk utility repair programs to recover the files?

HP will be getting a phone call about the printer issues separately, but I'm first and foremost worried about recovering these files...if anyone has had similar issues and can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
