Hi everyone. I recently had to remove the display bezel from my new HP Pavilion 15 Gaming Notebook to fix a slight assembly fault that resulted in the screen cover popping whenever I opened and closed it. I fixed the annoying popping sound (right side display bracket was mounted while slightly bent to the right, causing stress when mounted). While reassembling the bezel though I messed it up with super glue in an attempt to glue back the screw hole covers (small round stickers) - the covers had lost their stickyness after being exposed to air after a while. I therefore decided to order a new display bezel from HP. The part arrived, but no replacement stickers (covers) came along with it. HP service says they can't provide any - I just had a little row with them over that as a matter of fact. How could this part even arrive without the stickers? How is anybody supposed to restore the display bezel without these? It's absurd.
Anyway, is there anybody here who could point me to a place where I might find the original screw hole covers/stickers? I searched the internet but I'm not sure which if any of the models I found there would even fit my laptop model.
Here's a link to the product page of the laptop in question:
Cheers 🙂
Edit:
It's official: HP's local service says they absolutely can't provide any screw hole covers for the new display bezel, and that it is natural for the bezel to be delivered without the covers. I asked them how anybody is supposed to restore the bezel to its original state without these, but I couldn't get a straight answer from them: They suggested I find some sticky tape to cover the holes. The unit would be considered "fixed" without the covers; i.e. with screw holes and screws visible, according to HP's official service. I have requested a return for the part and I'm currently waiting for HP's response. I count my stars for not having sent my laptop to them to be "repaired" - now I can at least send them their part back.
It's not the HP service you get in Palo Alto, I imagine. Different countries, different standards, I guess. What a shame.
Sticky tape! Give me a break, HP.
