HP Laserjet 5100
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Newly purchased HP laserjet 5100 replaced an HP5000 that was using 5100 print driver. Connected with parallel to USB connection (the 5000 was connected that way as well).  My computer recognizes the printer when it is ready, a print file can be successfully sent. The printer displays Data Received and the data light stops flashing. Nothing is printed.

I have this printer configured the same way the 5000 was.

I have deleted and reinstalled both the 5100 PS and the Universal PCL6 drivers, several times. Same results. I tried connecting with the jetdirect cord, but the printer wasn't recognized at all then.

I prefer using the PS driver since it will render halftones through the printer. Using this printer to print positives for screenprinters.

Any help at all is appreciated. I'm sick of printing on an inkjet for oversized print jobs.
