Product: HP laserjet M527
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

An HP laserjet 527 printer will not print faxes received from a Canon Imagerunner Advance C5535i. I have tested this issue on two separate Canon printers. The 527 will acknowledge that it is receiving a fax but no fax will print or even appear on the printer's fax history. I have tested it on other 527s and other types of HP printers but it appears to only be an issue with this particular machine. I have checked all of the fax settings:

  • all faxes are set to print
  • no numbers are blocked

When I checked the fax activity log I'm pretty sure the faxes sent from the Canon are showing up as fax services instead of showing the number it was received from.

 

Short of replacing this printer entirely I cannot figure out a solution for this but I don't want to replace it as it works perfectly in every other way.

 

Any help would be appreciated.
