HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello! I have set up an outgoing email profile in the EWS (Embedded Web Server) for a new HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw print/scan/fax machine. It is the *only* outgoing email profile that is listed in the settings, as that list appear on the EWS. However, when I go to the LaserJet to perform a "Scan to Email," there are 2 outgoing email profiles listed to choose from. The one I created has an icon next to it that looks like a single person, and that outgoing email profile actually works with no problems. However, the other outgoing email profile (the one I want to delete) is listed on the printer with an icon next to it that looks like 2 people (with one slightly larger and in front of the other person). That email profile does not work and keeps giving me an error message when I try to use it that says, "Username or password is incorrect. Make sure both user account and password are valid." 

 

I'm not sure where the printer is pulling this username and password from (i.e. where would I look on the EWS for that information?), so I can't tell what user name and password the printer screen is referring to -- that of the email address from which I'm trying to send the email? That of my computer login? (Probably not the latter, as this function is supposed to work without need of a computer.) And how can I simply delete that broken outgoing email profile altogether, since it doesn't work, and the other one that I'm keeping does work? I would prefer not to have to go back to factory settings on the machine and set everything up again, having just spent 2 hours today with HP tech support getting everything set up!

 

Thanks for any help you can offer!  (BTW, I'm accessing the EWS on a MacBook Pro running the most recent version of Mac OS Catalina (10.15.6), if that helps.)
