Hi!

I'm using non-HP media (180gsm heavy paper) and therefore, the internal color profile isn't really usable when printing out of SmartStream or any other application.

I've seen that the "HP DesignJet Utility" offers the possibility to upload a custom ICC profile and bind it to one of the pre-defined media types.

Now I'm thinking about how to correctly use this workflow. For me it looks like printing a profiler target sheet (preferably "uncorrected"), measure it using a 3rd party profiling application and upload the resulting ICC profile.

Is this the correct way?
If yes, how can I submit a job without using the internal color management?

I've already thought about using an external RIP like Fiery XF or Onyx, but those applications also rely on the internal profiles and do their own color management "on top" ... which doesn't sound like a good idea 😉
