HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi,

I own a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw and have it connected to the network on VLAN 30 and it works perfectly. Now I have  new client computers on VLAN 50 and need to allow them to use this device both as a printer and scanner.

Bonjour traffic beeing not allowed between VLAN 30 and VLAN 50, I added firewall rules that allow VLAN 30 to access the device on VLAN 50 via IPP (port 631) using both tcp and udp. As a result VLAN 50 computers can add the printer and use it as a printer. However I could not succeed to make computers on VLAN 50 see it as a scanner.

So my question is: "what should I do in order to be able to use my MFP M177fw as a scanner from another vlan without having to enable bonjour traffic" (i.e. what ports should I open in the firewall ? then what do I have to do to "see" the scanner from within HP Easy Scan ?)

Thank you in advance and best regards!
