Hi everyone,

 

I can use the HP Smart iOS app to print from my iOS devices to the LaserJet m402dn printer in my office which has a wired ethernet connection -- I configured HP Smart using the IP address of my printer.

 

I'd like to limit access to the printer as it's obviously accessible to anyone via my campus network.

 

What I'd like to know is whether the HP Smart app is compatible with IPP Authentication: i.e. if I configure my printer to use it, can the HP Smart iOS app ask me for my username and password-- or even better, supply my username and password automatically? I can't seem to find a way to do this, i.e. when I enable IPP Authentication, the HP Smart app seems unable to connect to my printer.
