Hey guys. I know we should be asking these questions in techsupport but you guys respond faster and I am out of ideas.
We have a Laserjet M452 printer and had a Brother 5450 laser printer in our quality lab. The brother crapped out and I replaced it with an HP m402n printer because we have others around and they work great.
Well I go to install it on everyones computer (6 total) and someone printed a page and then suddenly nothing. So I do some troubleshooting and clear the line of any print jobs and then restart the computers and clear the print queue of everyone trying to print. I get test pages all day and word documents print but anytime someone opens excel and tries to print it prints the first page and then hangs for everyone else.
I decided the printer is garbage so I take it out and now only the existing m452 is there but then I start having the same issues with it.
I noticed that the excel print job is constantly restarting in the whats printing area. So on every computer I remove the device, uninstall the driver, restart the spooler and clear everything in the Windows\system32\spooler\printers folder and reboot each PC and reboot the printer with the network cable unplugged.
So I choose one of the six pcs and install the HP 452 printer again. I printed a test page fine. I printed an excel document fine. I go to print another excel document and nothing, the job is just constantly restarting in the queue. I print the job to a nearby Canon copier and it prints fine.
Anyone else having issues with HP? It is worth noting we use a GDT font on a lot of what these guys are printing but it was all working perfect before I tried to install the m402 on the computers and it broke the 452.
I also tried updating firmware, updating windows, updating office (variation of 2010, 2013 and 2016) trying the installer from HP and letting windows download it manually.
