Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just updated the Universal Printer Driver from v 6.6.0 to 6.6.5 (PCL6), the latest version, and I still have problems with print resolution. Although the Help section within Printer Properties shows an option of ProRes 1200 (1200x1200 dpi), the actual drop down menu does not have ProRes as an option. Specifically, the options avaialble are: 600 dpi (works), FastRes 1200 (works, I assume at 1200x600 not 600x600 but can't tell), Image REt 3600 (works like 600 or FR1200, but makes no sense since LJ 4000 is not a color laser), General Office (works, I assume at 300 as stated), Professional and Presentation (both options work at the ProRes 1200 slower speed than FastRes, but the print out just says "unsupported protocol"). Also, unlike pre-UPD days, every time I open an application program it defaults to 600 dpi - no ability to set at least FastRes 1200 as my default.

So, questions:  Is FastRes 1200 truly 1200x600, how do I get ProRes 1200, and how do I set a default resolution so I don't have to go into proerties each time I open a program like Word or Excel.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
