HP LaserJet Pro M404dw
Linux

Hello everyone, hope I'm right at this place with my question.

I have ordered an HP Laserjet Pro M404dw printer and was able to install it on my system (openSUSE Tumbleweed) with the HpLip software. However, using the correct PPD-file for postscript print jobs I'm not able to duplex print. The function in my printing dialogue on KDE (okular pdf viewer) is greyed out and not usable.

I found out by using Debian, that there is also a driverless solution for printing as used for mobile phones.

So I tried to connect the printer using the driverless option with cups filters. When using this option duplex printing is possible. BUT: The page scaling is horrible. The page not fully used, and it seems that the printed page is moved to the top of the sheet of paper and leaves space on the bottom. So it's working neither perfect.

Any solution on this? Is the PPD wrong? Or what could I try next?

Thanks in advance

hihu
