Hello to all,

 

I am looking for Type 3 - Printerdrivers (also called "Version 3" or "V3").

Since Windows 8 Microsoft changed the internal Driver-Structure to "Type 4" (or "Version 4", "V4")  Drivers.

(check this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/print/v4-printer-driver)

 

Type 4 - Driver ignore the "data type"-Setting of the "Print processor" in the Driver-Settings of a Printer Driver!

(see Settings  -> Advanced-Tab -> Print Processor...)

Type 4 - Drivers always print with data type "RAW"! Even if it is set for example to "NT EMF 1.008"!

 

As far as I know Type 3 - Drivers still support all other settings of "data type" of the Print Processor...

 

I am specially looking for Type 3 - Drivers which support data type "NT EMF 1.008" of the PrintProcessor.

Only with this data type Spoolfiles are created in EMF-Spoolformat. For more Information see:

Where can I get HP-PrinterDrivers which are Type 3 - Drivers and which support data type "NT EMF 1.008"?

Is it possible to search on HP Printerdriver-Downloadsite and set a search-filter to Type 3? Or any other workaround

to only find Type 3 - Drivers?

 

Does anybody has any idea to this? I already called HP-Support and asked for this, but they just didn't know anything

about Type 3 or Type 4  😞

 

I suppose my question might be to specific. If so, maybe someone can tell me another place to ask...
