Product: C7280
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks

My wife's C7280 is starting to behave erratically (scanner makes screeching noises, colors sometimes stop (in spite of head cleaning...) etc.

 

I cannot seem to find an equivalent that will print color photos with fidelity even on plain paper; the C7280 has outstanding color fidelity even on plain paper.

 

The C7280 uses six cartridges: black, yellow, light cyan, cyan, light magnenta, magenta and I notice that the majority of offerings use four: black, yellow, cyan, and magenta.  I've gone to stores and tried HP plus a few brands of inkjet printers that are rated highly for color photos, but tests show ONLY if using photo paper; not plain paper.

 

Does anyone have a comparable HP InkJet model to the C7280?
