Once we bought laser printers, my 8500a was no longer used often enough and began having print quality problems due to ink drying out.  It began with one of the colors and progressed to all.   We have since used it only as a flat-bed scanner.  Recently I 've tried to get it fully back up and running to print photos.  I installed all fresh fresh ink cartridges, and disassembled and cleaned both printheads.  But in subsequent testing no ink appears to make it into any of the 4 reservoirs in the two printheads except for the blue/cyan side of one.

I'm guessing I need to disassemble the printer far enough to blow out the feed tubes and their junction blocks; or at least to verify whether they are indeed the problems.   But I've been unable to find any repair manual or instructions for doing so.   There's one foreign-made YouTube video of disassembling an 8500a but the video is very dark and the quality too bad to see clearly; plus there's no audio.

Does anyone have a clear video, a repair manual - or even just pages from it, or a list of steps for tearing it down far enough to remove and clear the block holding the feed tube junctions (one-way check valves?).   I'd also like to be able to tear it down far enough to outright replace the feed tubes if that doesn't work.

I would really appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Thanks!
-Bob
