HP LaserJet M506
Microsoft Windows Server 2016

Hello

TL;DR a HP LJ M506 won't print but it is no longer in the printer queue

A network printer has been setup months ago and was working perfectly fine. Company had a wireless upgrade project happened during Christmas break and all m506 printer went mental (any other HP LJ printers were fine, like m402, m426, m428, etc).

Phase 1. We originally thought this was a network screw up by the vendor and contractors with our switch configuration and asked them to check what is going on. No news as of yet. What usually happens at this point, when a user prints something, it will send it to the printer and deletes it off the printer queue but it will NOT print. It can print AFTER disconnecting the network cable at the back. We can print directly using a printer cable to a workstation or a laptop, but that wasn't the case before the wireless upgrade, everything was working as a network printer. At this point, we have tried to reset print spooler on S2016.

Phase 2. We thought it was a VLAN switch issue but it was not the problem. We have used different drivers to test it out (e.g. HP Universal Printing PCL 6, PCL 6 5.9, PCL 6 6.9, HP M506 dedicated printer driver, etc). We have upgraded 2 of 10 printers affected with the latest firmware released back in Dec 2019. We have manually re-created TCP/IP ports, re-assign new ports, new static IP addresses and still no joy. Advance features have been left ON and OFF, whichever it did not make a difference. We have used at least 3 VMs to test and at least PDC to test it with (both PDC are running Server 2016).

Any info that we missed is very much appreciated.
