HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fnw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recenty installed a M477 printer at a small business to be shared between 6 computers. The network is setup Peer to Peer. I spent hours on the phone with HP Support on this issue where the Full Sofware package for the  LaserJet MFP M477fnw that I downloaded from the HP site would not load. I got the same results with the CD that the printer came with. I installed the printer software on 5 of the 6 Windows machines that were going to be using the printer for scanning as well as printing with no issues. The last Window 10 machine errored out when the progress square hit 80%. The error basically says reboot and try again. I searched the HP site and found similar posts for the M477. None of the posts fixed the issue. Called HP phone support and did 2 remote sessions with different HP techs and we were unable to get the printer software to load. The second HP tech told me that they were aware of an issue with the software and Windows 10. He said it works about 50 percent of the time - the rest get the error that I was experienceing. The workaround is to use the Microsoft APP store and download the HP Scan and Capture APP. This worked Great and solved the problem.!!
