HP PageWide Pro 477dw Multifunction Printer series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After initial setup the printer refused to believe that it had been shut down properly (by using the power button). I tried this 3 times before Googling (which yiedled no relevant hits). All three times I received not one but two warnings about improper shut down. I was therefore compelled to attempt some self troubleshooting before attempting other means such as this forum.

If anyone encounters this problem too, here is how I managed to make it behave...

Go into the admin pages (https://<ip address>/) and select Tools-Printer Restart-Power Cycle

Since I did this the printer has not given me any more erroneous warnings (3 more power offs).
