My Officejet Pro 8100, using Mac OS 10.15, was operating perfectly. I upgraded to the new Mac OS 11 (Big Sur). The printer is accessible through HP Utilities, communicating, providing condition reports and printing diagnostic pages, but is not accessible to the Mac applications, in spite of "adding" the printer, uninstalling and then installing the latest HP drivers for the printer and going through all the troubleshooting steps recommended by HP support. Receive error messages "unable to communicate" with the printer and "printer offline." Same results using either the USB or wireless connection. Have encountered no other problems with the new Mac operating system.
Added note: using an iPad with iPad OS14.1 and the wireless connection the printer operates flawlessly.
Do others have the same problem? Fixes: available? in the works?
