8600 N911n Officejet Pro
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Current state: stuck in Initialization Animation loop.

Trying to use it as a scanner only for now.

Have new set of non-hp cartridges.

Found if choose MFG from the hidden menu it would go back to the Main Home menus where you could use the scanner.

Now I can not get to the Home Menus.

Issue started with a non-hp cartridge becoming empty.  Ideas was to attempt printing with black ink only.

Ultimately found HP will never allow that to happen!

Performed many steps regarding the Hidden Menus.  The "press  *return arrow* four times" hidden menu to get the Printer Initialization Setup .  The "press power button to turn unit off, then press on and hold till it goes dark, wait 10 seconds and then press the buttons: Home, Return Arrow, Home Home" menu to get to the MFG REFLASH AUDIT MENU buttons.

Removed and cleaned the print head following Youtube videos.
